Textured sculptural wall artwork made from recycled cardboard by Perth artist Penny Brooshooft

Studio Eclette is the studio practice of Perth artist Penny Brooshooft, creating sculptural paintings from recycled paper and cardboard. Her works draw on antiquity, old frescoed walls, marble and architectural forms, exploring the effects of time, transformation, imperfection and patina.

“I create sculptural forms that feel like they have existed long before now. I’m interested in the way something new can be transformed into something with character and personality. I want my work to carry that feeling of transformation; how old walls feel worn and lived in, and beautiful because of how time has transformed them and
given them perfect imperfection.”
